То же самое (плюс-минус несколько МБ) происходит с gentoo 2008.x x86_64 livecd.
Что тут происходит? Разве 64-битная ОС не лечила от такого рода проблем?
Я не знаю эту материнскую плату лично, но вот предложение: зайдите в BIOS. Должен быть Функция переназначения памяти опция (возможно, в меню Advanced), которая по умолчанию отключена. Включите его и попробуйте еще раз.
Также убедитесь, что вы используете последнюю версию BIOS. (И не забудьте установить патчи CentOS, потому что у вас не последняя версия ядра. :))

Какой видеоинтерфейс у вас есть в вашей системе? Некоторые встроенные видеочипы используют системную память для собственных нужд, что делает ее недоступной для ОС. Скорее всего, это можно настроить в вашем биосе.
