Мои диски выходят из строя и вызывают большую нагрузку на Linux?

Сегодня я сделал apt-get update && apt-get upgrade на Linux Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS сервер. Все прошло нормально. Через четыре часа инструменты мониторинга предупредили меня о перегрузке дискового ввода-вывода. Ожидание ввода-вывода достигло 10-40%, а средняя нагрузка системы увеличилась с 1 до 20 на 8-ядерной системе. Сайт работал совершенно медленно. Похоже, что-то не в порядке с дисками или оборудованием, но я не совсем уверен. Где копать? Любая помощь приветствуется.

Вы давно не запускали самотестирование SMART. Попробуйте бежать smartctl -t long <device>. Это займет несколько часов, и вы увидите прогресс в smartctl -a:

Просто избавьтесь от драйва.

Думаю, @kasperd прав. Диск с ошибками sata / ошибками в смарт-журнале сломан.

кстати. Связь между высокой нагрузкой и неисправными приводами зависит от того, какая нагрузка измеряется. load - это количество процессов, ожидающих выполнения. Процесс, ожидающий возврата данных приводом, действительно является процессом, ожидающим выполнения.
